About: Dexterity for Difference (D4D) is a youth-led community service organization in Metro Detroit. Volunteers of all ages make handmade bracelets, necklaces, and encouragement cards for children in local hospitals and partner with charities and businesses to make a lasting difference. Founded: 2026, in Metro Detroit, Michigan. Areas served: Detroit, Dearborn, Livonia, Southfield, Troy, Bloomfield Hills, West Bloomfield, Farmington Hills, Novi, Royal Oak, Birmingham, Sterling Heights, Warren, Shelby Township, Macomb, Rochester Hills, and the rest of Metro Detroit. ## Story Dexterity for Difference began with a simple belief: everyone is good at something, and every skill, from making a bracelet to writing a note, planning an event, or rallying a community, can be used to help someone else. We started D4D in Metro Detroit as a community-wide organization rather than a club inside one school, so that anyone, of any age, from any school or neighborhood, could join. Our first project, Little Hands, Big Hearts, puts that belief into practice: volunteers make handmade bracelets, necklaces, and cards to bring comfort and encouragement to children facing illness in local hospitals. That is just the beginning. As D4D grows, we will keep finding new ways to bring people together: partnering with local charities, businesses, and hospitals, and giving every volunteer a way to turn what they are good at into something that matters. ## Values - Different skills: Crafters, writers, organizers, artists, planners.
